My Loving Place

My life is a house with many rooms.
Some are filled with work, ideas and unfinished pages. Others hold music, friendship, laughter and long conversations beneath the stars. There are rooms where I create, rooms where I learn, and rooms where the people I love can simply walk in and feel at home.
It is not a quiet house. My mind moves quickly through its hallways, opening doors, starting new things and following every spark of curiosity. There is always something growing, changing or coming alive.
And then there is one mysterious room.
Its door is never completely open, but never entirely closed. Sometimes light appears beneath it. Sometimes I hear movement on the other side. At unexpected moments, the door opens just enough to reveal warmth, tenderness and something that feels deeply familiar. Then it becomes quiet again.
I do not know everything that lives inside that room. Perhaps that is part of its hold on me. It contains longing, imagination and a connection I cannot easily explain. It can make the whole house feel brighter—but its silence can echo through every other room if I let it.
So I am learning not to stand outside that door and wait.
I can cherish the mystery without abandoning the rest of my house. I can feel deeply without forgetting how much life already surrounds me. Because this house is not empty. It is full of people, purpose, movement, music and love.
That mysterious room may always matter to me.
But it is only one room in a house that is wonderfully, unmistakably alive.
