"Oh... there you are."

So... I met this guy... a couple of months ago...

Not one of those dramatic movie moments.
No fireworks.
No music playing in the background.

Just... a conversation.

At least, that's what I thought.

Somewhere between the jokes, the easy laughter, and the way our conversations never seemed to run out of road, something quietly shifted.

You know those rare people who don't feel new?

The ones who somehow make you feel as if you've known them long before you've actually met?

We can spend hours talking about absolutely everything—and somehow about nothing at all. New Zealand, mountain bikes, astronomy, coffee, ridiculous jokes, life... and then suddenly we're talking about the things that actually matter.

The funny part is that I spend half the time laughing.

Not because he's trying to be funny.
He just... is.

His answers catch me off guard in the best possible way. The kind of humor that isn't performed, but simply part of who someone is.

And when he's around, everything feels... easy.

No pretending.
No walking on eggshells.
No wondering what to say next.

Just comfortable.

Trust usually takes time.

Yet somehow, with him, it feels as though my brain skipped the introductions and went straight to "Oh... there you are."

Maybe that's what people mean when they say someone feels familiar.

Not because you've met before.

But because being yourself suddenly requires no effort at all.

And honestly...

That's a pretty rare gift.
