The Invisible Thread

I once knew what it felt like to be completely free and still belong somewhere.

There was a quiet certainty beneath everything. I didn’t need to hold on to it. I didn’t need constant reassurance or proof.

I simply knew it was there.

I was loved anyway. I was just loved....

And because I knew, I felt free.

Free to wander, to meet people, to laugh, to lose myself in the world for a while — without ever feeling lost.

There was an invisible thread.

Not something that held me back, but something that made the world feel safe enough to explore. No matter where I was or who surrounded me, somewhere deep inside there was that quiet sense of connection.

I never realised how much peace that certainty gave me until it was gone.

The world is still wide.
I am still free.
There are still people to meet, places to discover, evenings filled with laughter.

But freedom feels different now.

Because the most beautiful kind of freedom is knowing you are loved, wherever you go.

It is knowing you can wander as far as you like...

and still have somewhere to belong.
